There are many significant problems with AION.  I've worked my way up to level 29 on a Cleric and a Gladiator.  I've crafted all their armor.  I've tried out just about every class up to level 14.  The ranger seems the most fun.  The game looks great and it is fun for a bit.  The biggest problem to me is the absolute tremendous amount of time one has to dedicate to this game to get anywhere. I did the same sort of things in AoC and I got my barbarian all the way up to level 54 before the server population droped and the quests became grinds.  Aion has potential, but after awhile its just not fun.  The balance of time versus pay out is simply not worth it. I'm going back to AoC for awhile to see if they have fixed their content issues.  Honestly I think the mounts in AoC are way more fun than flying in Aion.  You can only fly in certian regions, the mounst go every where.  I never died once riding my mount in AoC but I've died quite a bit flying in Aion.

A grind is a grind, how well disguised that grind is will separate afun, enjoyable process for me from one that is long, drawn out andquite frankly, boring one. Considering my previous point of how mobs inthis game lack AI and share same mechanics all the way through thegame, you learn nothing about your character or this game's lore bykilling the same enemy NPC's for hours, days on end. Furthermore and inclosing on this point, I feel that this is a very poor and lazy way fora game developer to push me into another month of game subscription. Idon't pay money out of my pocket to be bored. I do so to beentertained, I am not entertained by killing trees in Herion. Apparently this is supposed to be changed in an up and coming patch,quite possibly I will return when this wall of XP is reduced. It'sabsurd and quite frankly, I feel cheated out of a good MMO by theridiculous leveling process in this game.
